TPS-01 Broadcast PAL > SECAM Transcoder The TPS-01 PAL to SECAM Broadcast Transcoder offers high quality conversion from 625 line / 50Hz PAL to 625 line / 50Hz SECAM (SECAM - IIIB/D/G/K/K1/L). Before transcoding, the PAL signal is first decoded to luminance and colour difference signals (YC), using precision filtering to ensure maximum residual chrominance subcarrier. This gives excellent signal characteristics with greater bandwidth and lower noise than with conventional RGB transcoding, and provides a lower cost solution in situations where comb filtering is not justified. |

There are two composite SECAM outputs, each with SECAM identification "bottles" in the vertical interval (which can be disabled), making the TPS-01 ideal for use in systems where there may be older TV receivers / monitors which require these for correct synchronisation. The TPS-01 can also be configured to pass the vertical interval (ITS etc.) without processing, if required. An optional bypass relay can also be installed to preserve the looping PAL input in the case of mains failure. The TPS-01 is housed in a 1U high 19" rackmount enclosure with mains PSU. It is based on a single extended Eurocard (100x220mm board) allowing several transcoders to be incorporated in a single rack (up to 4 in a 1U frame and 14 in a 3U frame). |
