DigiBox D2A - Low Cost SDI Demodulator for TV Monitor Use

An extremely cost effective SDI to Generic Multi-format 10 Bit Video Converter designed for in-line mounting behind a TV monitor. Miniature 5Volt ultra reliable SMPSU with 200K+ Hours MTBF.

Digibox D2A completely satisfies the requirements of a monitoring quality SDI Encoder, producing base band video signals of impressive quality. An internal DIP switch enables selection from ANY of these video OP formats:-

1) Component Video (Y, Cr, Cb)

2) Red, Green & Blue (R, G+s, B).

3) Luminance + Chrominance (SVHS)

4) Encoded, Composite Video. (CVBS)

5) To either 525 or 625 TV Standard.

10 bit output video signals are passed through a relaxed specification interpolation filter, and brought to the D-9 connector. Vortex offer at low cost, a 0.5 metre long ferrite sleeved triple BNC loom that may be used to feed the TV monitor directly. Proprietary circuitry monitors the input SDI signal and flags certain errors, which may be used externally as an error warning, possibly via the monitor's TX Tally lamp.

  The DigiBox D2A weighs only 100gm and is contained within an EMC shielded metal case only 70mm x 28mm and is supplied with pre-cut self-adhesive Velcro™ fastener, to facilitate location and positioning.

Automatic SDI cable equalisation is provided for a minimum of 100m cable and only a single +5V power source is required. Vortex include an EEC manufactured ultra-reliable miniature plug top power supply, little larger than a standard mains connector, with a minimum projected life of 20 years!  

The Digibox D2A is 10-bit and whilst designed primarily for monitoring use, many a fine user has incorporated them within the programme chain !
