| CADS Analogue > Digital & CDAS Digital > Analogue Converters
CDAS and CADS modules offer high-quality conversion between component analogue video (YUV and RGB) and 270Mbits/second component serial digital (CCIR-601 / SMPTE 259) video, integrating digital and analogue production equipment in the broadcast signal chain. These modular converters can be mounted in a 3U rackframe, or as 4 self-powered modules in a 1U frame, or they may be independently housed in a desktop case (2 of the digital outputs are removed to accommodate power access in the self powered presentation). The CDAS module converts a 10-bit 270Mbits/second component serial digital video to two component analogue outputs switchable between RGB and YUV, a composite sync output plus 4 reclocked serial digital signals. |

The CADS module converts an analogue signal of 525 lines / 60Hz or 625 lines / 50Hz to 270Mbits/second 10-bit serial digital component video. The looping input is switchable between RGB and YUV, there is a looping sync input and 4 digital outputs. A single channel analogue to digital converter, the CADS Key, is provided for applications where only the luminance signal is required (such as for linear keying). This offers the same broadcast-standard performance as the standard digital converter, but in a low cost module.
