Remote Keypad Controller for audio/video routing switchers

The Remote Contoller features:

  • Pass-through RS232 Controller
  • Breakaway Audio or Video
  • Store/Recall Switching Patterns
  • Full Matrix or Single Output Control
  • Two-Line LCD Display

The Remote Controller is an RS232 terminal device which is designed to control the VX8X00 series of audio/video routing switchers from remote locations via three-wire hookup or modem.

The keypad is mounted in a 5" x 7" ABS housing, approximately 1.5 inches high. It has two DB9 connectors, one male for RS232 out (down-stream) to the Knox routing switcher which is to be controlled, and one female for RS232 in from another keypad controller or other RS232 terminal device.

Power is supplied from a wall plug-in module which provides power at 8vdc to 12vdc at approximately 250 mA.

Additional Controllers for audio/video routing switchers

Windows Control Software

Full-function software allowing total control of Knox routing switchers in a Windows™ environment. Windows™ 95, 98, NT, 2000, & ME compatible, the program features several graphic, user-friendly displays to route, view and identify crosspoints easily

USB Adapter

The USB adapter allows PC communications programs to control routing switchers from a USB port or USB hub.  The software maps in a real or phantom COM port on a PC to the USB interface, while the hardware intercepts the USB communications and converts them to RS232 to control switchers in real time.

Multilevel Translator

The Multilevel Translator addresses up to eight levels of audio or video within a matrix array comprising of up to four routing switchers.  Multiple signal types such as S- and composite video, stereo audio or five channel surround sound may be mapped to as many as 999 outputs across multiple routers.  The Multi Level translator is a hardware device with one RS232 input and four RS232 outputs with a software user interface.
