The VX-2035 is a versatile dual-channel buffer amplifier offering a convenient 4-wire interface for telecommunications equipment. It provides a low-cost, portable solution for talkback and other communications using PSTN, ISDN and cellular services, and can also serve as a stand-alone mic, headphone or buffer amplifier with the optional 2035-C4 cable. The VX-2035 is battery or mains operated and has switchable phantom-powered mic/line level input plus both balanced line and headphone outputs. Input and output levels are adjustable, and transmission mode can be switched between send, receive and full duplex. The bypass switch allows conventional communication on the telephone's handset connected via the front panel.

Used in conjunction with a standard PSTN or ISDN telephone the VX-2035 offers similar capabilities to a hybrid. By connecting the handset to the telephone via the VX-2035, audio is intercepted and correctly buffered and balanced to provide the send/receive connection. Interface to portable telephones is achieved by connecting the VX-2035 via the cellphone's hands-free car kit using a special cable. This allows integration of conventional studio equipment to provide audio backup and talkback without the need for either telephone line or mains power. Special versions can be built to order, including multi-channel rackmounted arrangements. |
