The CASH Programme Time Reduction System allows you to broadcast a live or recorded radio programme in less than real time, without distorting the audio signal. This enables you to include advertisements or recaps at any point in the programme without losing any of the action. This may seem impossible, but really it's quite simple.
 

CASH stores the programme in real time as it is recorded or played out, delaying the output of the transmission signal by a fixed amount determined by the operator. As it stores the audio, it looks for minute periods of silence which it discards, gradually reducing the amount of delay between the input and output. After some time, the output catches up with the input, a process which is imperceptible to the listener.

If CASH is started part-way through a programme as an advertisement is played out, by the end of the programme CASH will have recovered all the time lost without missing any of the programme itself. You could even use CASH to automatically edit a programme down to a particular duration without editing out any dialogue.
